Early on Saturday, a truck transporting hydrogen gas cylinders overturned and caught fire on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad highway in Palghar district, Maharashtra.

The incident, which occurred near Vasai on the Gujarat side, triggered multiple explosions of the hydrogen cylinders and resulted in significant traffic standstills. Vehicles heading towards Gujarat were halted, and those traveling towards Mumbai faced delays. The Thane city traffic police have advised motorists to avoid Ghodbunder Road for travel towards Vasai and Gujarat, with traffic being redirected via Bhiwandi. Firefighters from the Vasai Virar City Municipal Corporation arrived promptly and managed to control the blaze within a few hours. Authorities are working to clear the wreckage and restore normal traffic flow.
